ABC's of Mrs. Aaron's Room
It is very important for your child to be in school everyday and on time. I thank you in advance for your cooperation. :)
If your child is absent from school, it is a necessity that a note be sent in on the day of his/her return. The note should explain the reason for the absence and the date(s). If your child is absent for more than 3 consecutive days, a doctor's note is required. If your child needs to leave school early for any reason or leave for a short period of time during the day, please send in a note.
(Easy fill in the blank form)
When it is your child's birthday, you may bring in a small treat for them to share with the class on their special day. There are 30 children in our class.
If you have ANY concerns at all throughout the school year, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me.
Please feel free to call school, email me, or send a note. I know that your child is your first concern as they are mine. Please keep in mind that I am with your children all day, so a thorough response may take a day.
If your child is going home a different way than normal, please remember to send a note to school.
f it is necessary for your child to have a cell phone for after school contact, it must be OFF and placed in the bin in my classroom at the beginning of each day.
Each student is responsible for obtaining their phone at dismissal.
Your child will have homework Monday-Thursday.
I also stay after school every Wednesday and Thursday until 3:30, for any student who needs help in any subject. All they have to do is stay!
I have told your children that any unwanted or disruptive behavior towards them will not be tolerated. I cannot help the situation if they do not tell me. Please encourage your children , as I also encourage you, to come to me first with a problem that requires "telling", where someone is hurt, feelings or physical. I discourage "tattling", just to get someone in trouble. I will then contact the disciplinarian and/or principal if needed.
There will be a lot of incentives for your child to do well this year, while making learning fun at the same time.
Just try it!
In Mrs. Aaron's classes we try to promote an atmosphere of safety. I am not afraid to make mistakes, and I want my students to feel the same. It's ok to make a mistake and no one is perfect. So even if a student were struggling, I would still like them to just try it.
There is a ZERO tolerance for bullying in our classroom. We will spend a majority of the first few weeks of school doing team-building activities as a classroom. Students are expected to be kind to each other in our classroom and outside of our classroom.
Make up work
Your child will have one day to complete ALL missed work and show it to me.
If you child was absent consecutive days in a row their work is due the day they return. Please contact me (email or call the office) no later than 12 o'clock to have their work in the office for pick up or sent home with another student/sibling.
If there was a test on the day your child was absent they MUST be prepared to take that test on the day they return.
Notes from home
There is a bin for students to place all communication that is to go to the office or to me. It is their responsibility to check their folder in the morning and place items in the basket.
Please do not hesitate to contact me this year with any questions that you may have. Also, please encourage your child this year to ask a lot of questions so that they fully understand what is being taught.
Fifth graders are in that transition year where there are more expectations put onto them, and there is a big focus on having your fifth grader become a responsible student.
In our classroom 'family' it will be very important for all of us to work together as a team this school year to make your child's school year as successful as possible

Please make sure that your child comes to school in the proper uniform every day. If you have any questions about the uniform policy, please refer to the school website.
Please bookmark our classroom website for future use. There will be pictures, student work, and helpful sites for your child to practice concepts that we are learning in class. Also, if you can ever think of anything that you would want to see on our site, please let me know.
